Finalising Results & World Sailing XRR Export

At the end of the event the race team is able to create a finalised and validated result, this result will then be displayed back to teams and clubs allowing them to track their results across events. For events who are able to send results to World Sailing we provide the ability to generate both mid-event and finalised results in their XRR format.

Before you begin this process, please ensure that you have added at least 2 people to the Event Team as the finalisation process requires 2 approvers, one of whom can be the person generating/configuring the final result.

Step 1 - Enter the XRR Details (Configure the event):

This only needs to be done once and can be done at any time.

From the Manage Event screen choose Finalise Event Results

If the XRR Details haven't been set the only option available is Manage XRR details

Choose Manage XRR Event details will allow you to configure your event:

The first part of the page sets up the global regatta details:

Check that the Title is correct and then choose your Approvers. If you are exporting to World Sailing then complete the IFRegattaID and IFUploadCode which are supplied by World Sailing.
Unless advised, do not change the RegattaID and Type.

The second part of the page configures any Divisions, most events will only have a single division and so check that the values are as expected and specify your Approvers (these are typically the same as the Regatta details).

Step 2 - Manage Division Results (set final results):

Once you have setup the XRR details in Step 1, you can then Manage the Division Results which will allow you to set the Final Event Result.

Choose Manage Division Results

For each team enter the Rank and optionally the Net Points and Total Points if applicable. To the right of each team their computed rank from each stage of the event is shown.

Once all Ranks are entered click Confirm

Step 3 - Request Approval / Approve Division Results:

Clicking Request Approval button will send an email to both Approvers with a link to the Approve Division Results Screen.

Any Approver will also have the Approve Division Results button and can do this without needing to be sent an email request.

The Approve Division Results page will provide a list of teams and their ranks as entered on the Finalise Division screen.

If the Approver is happy that this list is correct then they can click Approve. If they disagree then they should click cancel and discuss with the event team any issues and corrections to be made to the Final Division Results.

The status of Approvals can be seen on the Manage Event -> Finalise Event Result screen:

NB if any details are changed on the Manage Division Results page then all Approvals will automatically be removed.

Once Both Approvals are True, the ranks will then be shown to teams & clubs across the kSail Event Platform, it will also be possible to Download or Submit the XRR to World Sailing.
