Finalising event results provides the following:
- Final Approved Results are shown to Clubs, Teams & Sailors with their event history
- The Final Approved Results are shown on the Event Pages
Before you start, please ensure the following:
i) You have Event Write Permission
ii) There are at least 2 people in the Event Team who can be set as approvers, their role needs to be Organising Authority Rep, Principal Race Officer, Race Officer, Jury Chair or Chief Umpire
Entering the Final Event Result
From the Event Menu -> Manage Event on the Config tab choose Enter Results
First select who you would like to Approve the Results you enter:
Enter at least a Rank for each Team, optionally if relevant, e.g. for fleet racing, enter Net Points and Total Points. To the right you are shown the calculated rank for the team in each stage they competed in.
If you do not wish to include teams then toggle the Include slider for that team.
If a team is tied with another, e.g. 2 teams were ranked 5th, toggle the Tied slider for both teams.
Once completed, choose Confirm Results
You will then see a status of the Overall Division Results
Clicking Request Approval will send an email to any Approver who has not yet validated the results
If you set yourself as an Approver then you will also have the ability to Approve the Results directly
Approving Results
When an Approver gets a request to Approve and follows the link, they will be shown a Read-Only view of the results you have entered
If they disagree with the results, they should work with you directly to make any amendments.
If the Approver is happy with the result then they can choose to Approve.
Currently only 1 person is required to Approve the Results for them to show on the Event Page and to Clubs/Teams/Sailors, however using 2 independent approvers is best practice for higher level events.
For events that require World Sailing XRR Export then 2 people are required to Approve Results.
